An armed robbery at a title loan business in Arlington, Texas, resulted in a shootout with police and the arrest of one suspect. A second suspect remains at large.

One person was arrested last week and a second suspect remains at large as of Monday morning after an armed robbery Friday in Arlington led to a shootout with officers, police said. According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded at about 6:46 p.m. to reports of an armed robbery at a title loan business in the 600 block of West Pioneer Parkway. A passerby called 911 and reported seeing two people who were possibly armed enter the business, police said.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter. Then, two officers who were covering the back door of the business saw the door open, police said, and one man exited the building and immediately took off running. Moments later, a second man in the doorway displayed a firearm and began firing, according to police. The two officers then fired their service weapons multiple times in the direction of the suspect police said. The suspect, later identified as Kelvin Bivens, 37, retreated into the business and later attempted to exit out the front door, APD said. Officers posted on the front side of the business took him into custody without incident. APD said no officers were hurt and neither was the suspect. Bivens was booked into the Arlington City Jail on complaints of aggravated assault against a public servant and aggravated robbery before being booked into the Tarrant County Jail. 'Shortly after the exchange of gunfire, multiple employees of the business exited out the back door. Our officers could see that their hands and their legs were bound by tape,' Arlington Police Chief of Staff Courtney White said Monday.'They were all safely removed from the business. While they were shaken up, they were not injured as well.'The two officers who fired their weapons, who weren't identified, were placed on administrative leave, White said. She said one has been with the department for two years and the other has been with the department for three years. White said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing and they're asking anyone with information about it to contact police
