The incident happened around 8 a.m. Monday while the woman was walking in Allison Hill, police said.

An 18-year-old held a woman at gunpoint in broad daylight Monday as he robbed her and tried to force her to perform sexual acts, Harrisburg police said.

Giovanni T. Hall, of Harrisburg, approached the woman around 8 a.m. while she was out walking near 13th and Berryhill streets in Allison Hill, according to police. Police said the woman tried to fight Hall off when he pulled out the gun and tried to force her to perform the sex acts. Hall hit her, robbed her and then ran away, police said.Police said Hall had drugs and the items he stole from the woman on him when he was taken into custody.

Hall was charged with robbery, rape by forcible compulsion, assault, and a number of related offenses.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31 in front of Magisterial District Judge Paul Zozos. Anyone with information on Monday’s incident is asked to call Harrisburg police at 717-558-6900, or submit a tip
