Michael Bassey called 911 and reported that he had stabbed and killed someone, according to authorities and 911 audio
When Bassey walked out of the apartment, police said he was holding a beer in one hand and a large knife in the other. The officers told Bassey to drop the knife roughly five times as he walked down the stairs from his apartment to the parking lot, the footage showed. Officers ran after Bassey into a wooded area, but stopped at the top of a hill when he ran down an embankment, according to the footage. Bassey then turned around and ran back up the hill, still holding the knife.
When Bassey tried to stand up, a second officer deployed his taser and Bassey fell flat on his stomach, according to the footage.
