Proposition 314 passed with just over 62% of the vote, the Associated Press said Wednesday.

Proposition 314 was placed on ballots by Arizona's Republican-controlled legislature after Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed similar legislation in March. The governor said at the time the bill did little to secure the southern border and instead vilified communities, as well as burdened law enforcement.The measure also makes it a state crime for immigrants living in the U.S.
