An ASU spokesperson said Sunday the ban involves its football program for the upcoming season and that the NCAA and Pac-12 conference have been made aware.
TEMPE, AZ — Arizona State University Vice President for University Athletics Ray Anderson has announced it has self-imposed a"one-year postseason ban on its football program."
An ASU spokesperson said Sunday the ban involves its football program for the upcoming season and that the Sun Devils will not play any bowl games. The NCAA and Pac-12 conference have reportedly been made aware. The move is due to an"ongoing investigation" though no further details would be provided for"confidentiality" reasons.
ESPN reported Sunday that the bowl ban is related to an ongoing investigation since 2021 about recruitment violations. An ASU spokesperson confirmed to ABC15 the self-imposed ban is in relation to that investigation.
