Coach Herm Edwards said his team will be ready for a loud crowd Saturday when the Sun Devils visit No. 10 Oklahoma State.
Talk to the Arizona State football players about their upcoming game against No. 10 Oklahoma State and one words keep coming up . . ."excited."
"It’s a great venue to play in obviously, so, you know, we better be ready for that. It’s very noisy there," ASU coach Herm Edwards said."The noise of the crowd, we got to deal with all that. This is our first time together as a team going on the road and it’s a special place to play obviously and we better be prepared to do that because we’re going to have to play at our best. There’s no doubt.
The Sun Devils have had practices with artificial crowd noise and they're working on the silent count. For others, the experience won't necessarily be anything new or overwhelming. Defensive back Ro Torrence came from Auburn so he's been in some hostile territories in SEC play, specifically singling out the Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama. He also singled out a nonconference game last season at Penn State.
Henderson and kicker Carter Brown both hail from Texas, just a state away. So they'll have some family at the game. Only two teams in FBS play were penalized more than ASU last season. Cleaner play has been a point of emphasis both in the spring and in fall camp. It seems to have helped as the Sun Devils had just four penalties for 35 yards against NAU."That we keep our composure. In an environment where it’s going to be really loud and it’s on the road and all those things, how do we handle that now? We’re going on the road.
