Phoenix tied and broke daily temperature records earlier this week before high pressure moved eastward, bringing slightly cooler temperatures. The Valley will see highs in the upper 70s to low 80s for the next couple of days, with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

Arizona is finally experiencing a respite from the record-breaking heat, but warm temperatures will persist throughout the remainder of the week. Phoenix recorded tying daily records on Sunday and Monday, followed by setting a new record on Tuesday as temperatures surged into the mid-80s. Sky Harbor reached 86 degrees, surpassing the 1963 record of 85. Even overnight temperatures have been warmer this week, with most of the Valley only dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s.

As high-pressure systems shift eastward, temperatures are expected to decrease by a few degrees today and Thursday, lifting Phoenix out of its record-breaking streak. Highs in the Valley are projected to climb into the upper 70s to low 80s for both days. While winds will remain light in the Valley, breezes will pick up again along the Mogollon Rim and across northeastern Arizona on Wednesday and Thursday. Gusts could reach 30 mph in Flagstaff and Show Low. The next approaching storm system is forecast to pass north of Arizona late Friday and Saturday, bringing windy conditions to the high country and a minimal chance of scattered showers in northern Arizona. Here in the Valley, the forecast remains dry, promising fantastic weather for this year's Phoenix Open. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, light winds, no frost delays, and high temperatures in the 70s. 2025 Sky Harbor Official Rainfall to date: 0.01' (-0.99' from average) 2024 Sky Harbor Official Rainfall to date: 4.54' (-2.68' from average) Monsoon 2024 Sky Harbor Official Rainfall: 0.74' (-1.69' from average) Daily rainfall reports from across the Valley can be found here.
