Tucson, Arizona Mayor Regina Romero last week released a statement denouncing the incoming Trump administration's proposed mass deportations.
I am deeply troubled by President-Elect Trump’s plans for mass deportation,” the mayor wrote via X Friday. “I believe they are cruel and immoral.” Though she acknowledged not having any specific details about how the incoming Trump administration will enact its plans, the mayor said the process will be painful for families. She also pointed to Proposition 314, a state ballot measurethis month giving police officers the authority to arrest immigrants who illegally cross into the U.S.
“Here’s Tucson’s radical Marxist Mayor reading a placard,” conservative advocacy group iVoteArizona added. “She’s worked in concert with @GovernorHobbs & @JoeBiden to aid and abet the illegal invasion of Arizona. Meanwhile, while she pontificates, crime rates soar in Tucson’s increasingly crime-riddled, decaying neighborhoods.”
