A 60-year-old man named John MacKay is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly threatening neighbors and law enforcement officers in Tombstone, Arizona. According to a press release from the Tombstone Marshal's Office, MacKay forced his way into a neighbor's residence on Saturday evening, threatening them with a sword and a screwdriver. He reportedly told his neighbors that 'somebody was going to die tonight.
' MacKay's erratic behavior continued as he also threw rocks at another neighbor's home that same evening. When deputies responded to MacKay's residence, he claimed to be armed with a screwdriver and threatened to stab a deputy 'through the heart.' He eventually emerged from his house with a large, lock-blade knife, making a motion as if preparing to throw it at the officers. MacKay was then subdued using Pepperball before barricading himself inside his residence. It took several hours for the Cochise County SWAT team to enter MacKay's home and take him into custody. He was subsequently charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Trespassing in the First Degree, and being a Prohibited Possessor in possession of a Deadly Weapon.
