Gov. Katie Hobbs said Tuesday mass deportations would take away resources from Border Patrol personnel already working to secure her state’s southern border.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs on Tuesday pushed back on President-elect Donald Trump's potential mass deportations plan, saying she would not stand for such “misguided policies.”
“I will not tolerate misguided policies that don’t actually help with the critical work that’s happening here, that you’re seeing here today, that actually keeps our communities safe and secure,” Gov. Hobbs said during a press conference. “I will not tolerate terrorizing communities or threatening Arizonans.”
Trump on Monday confirmed via Truth Social he would declare a national state of emergency over illegal immigration once in the Oval Office. A post shared by the president-elect noted he will “use military assets” to conduct mass deportations from the U.S.
