An area of low pressure and cold air will move into Arizona, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance of light snow showers over higher elevations. Winds will also pick up, especially in the High Country. The dry weather is expected to continue next week with temperatures hovering near normal.
A few changes to the forecast over the next 24 hours!An area of low pressure will move into Arizona overnight into Friday. The system will combine with a large trough of cold air from the north. As it does so, the temperatures will drop through the weekend and into next week.While high temperatures reached 75° in Phoenix on Thursday, highs will drop into the middle 60s beginning Friday and lasting into next week.
Gusts of 20-30 mph are possible Friday, Saturday and Sunday in northern Arizona. The forecast high for Friday is 67 degrees, this will likely repeat through the weekend with sunny conditions.Unfortunately, while next week looks cool, it also looks dry across the state."As dry weather and clear skies continue, temperatures will hover not far from the climatological normals this holiday weekend," the National Weather Service Phoenix wrote on X.
