For one Arizona family, celebration almost turned into tragedy as the father of a newborn girl suffered a heart attack hours after her daughter was born. He was in the right place and at the right time, however, and doctors were able to make sure the family can celebrate many more milestone to come.
A family in Arizona was celebrating the birth of a baby girl when suddenly, things took a frightening turn for the new father. Fortunately, medical staff stepped in to prevent what could have been a tragedy. "A flood of emotion. We just held each other and cried because we couldn't believe what we had just been through," said Emily. "A nurse was upstairs telling me he had a heart attack, and had a stent placed in his heart," said Emily.According to the Cleveland Clinic's, a widowmaker heart attack involves a full blockage of the heart's biggest artery, the left anterior descending artery.
