The Arizona Coyotes selected Dmitriy Simashev from Yaroslavl Jr.as the sixth overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft, which began Wednesday night.
At No. 12, a pick the team acquired from the Ottawa Senators in the Jakob Chychrun trade, the Coyotes selected Daniil But from the same club as Simashev. With the second pick, the Anaheim Ducks offered the first shocker of the draft and took center Leo Carlsson, the top international skater of the class.
