The Arizona Cardinals are in line for a high 2023 NFL draft pick. But some sites don't see them keeping it.
has the Carolina Panthers trading for the Cardinals' No. 4 pick in its latest mock draft, giving Arizona the No. 9 pick in the first round, the No. 61 overall pick in the second round, as well as a third-round pick in 2023 and a 2024 third-round selection.
With their new No. 9 pick, the site has Arizona selecting Christian Gonzalez, a cornerback out of Oregon. It projects the Panthers to take Kentucky QB Will Levis at No. 4. The best part, they still manage to secure my personal top cornerback of the class here at No. 9—they secure Christian Gonzalez and three day-two selections in total as a part of this nightmarish season. It has Arizona selecting Clemson edge rusher Myles Murphy at No. 6 and Detroit landing Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud at No. 4. The Lions would also give the Cardinals the No. 17 pick in the draft in the trade. It has Arizona picking Clemson DT Bryan Bresee with that pick. Of the Murphy pick, Kent Platte writes:"With J.J. Watt heading from Arizona to the Hall of Fame waiting room, the team could use a new, massive, uber-athletic pass rusher on the outside. Myles Murphy’s size is already a big draw, but the Cardinals know better than most how that can be used to give an identity to a defense. Prior to Watt, the Cardinals’ defense was led by Calais Campbell, who made the All-Pro team twice while with the team.
