Ariana Grande is sharing the sweet reason she chose to use her full name — Ariana Grande-Butera — in the 'Wicked' credits: 'It felt really full circle.'

with over five years of experience covering the latest in entertainment. A proud Kingston University alum, Emlyn has written about music, fandom, film, television, and awards for multiple outlets including MTV News,is sharing the heartwarming reason that she chose to use her full name, Ariana Grande-Butera, for the end credits of“I just feel like this experience was such a homecoming for me,” Grande explained.

She continued, “That was my name when I went to see the show when I was 10-years-old, and it felt like a really lovely way of honoring that. It felt really full circle, and it just felt like something I wanted to do.

She added, “Going off of ‘Side to Side,’ I probably would’ve said the same thing. I probably would’ve said, ‘Why the f---? Kill me. I’ve waited 20 years for this. Kill me.’ I would’ve said that as a fan from the outside, knowing of only ‘7 Rings.' I’d say, ‘Well, that’s bulls---.’ So, you know, I get it.”Instead, Grande said the reactions pushed her to try and be “the best I can” and not “let it derail me” from her goal of bringing Glinda to life onscreen.
