Pop star Ariana Grande recently shared a hilarious story about her first encounter with her idol, musician Imogen Heap. Grande admitted that she thought she was going to be murdered when Heap invited her over for dinner.
actress and singer was asked if she ever gets starstruck, she answered in the affirmative:" Imogen Heap is my idol — my number one favorite musician, songwriter, producer of all time," Grandein an interview published Friday."The first time I got a message from her, I thought I was being catfished. She invited me over, and I thought I was going to be murdered because I didn’t believe it was real.
Heap was familiar with the artist already, having seen clips that fans had sent her of Grande's "really good" voice."I knew she was coming so I cooked her some lentils because she's a vegan. Tried to make something half-tasty," Heap said."During that meeting, she also tried on my gloves. I have these musical performance compositionI've been making for eight years.
It went well. The two have gone on to collaborate more than once, with Heap performing at Grande's One Love Manchester benefit concert, and Grande's 2018 song "Goodnight n Go" being a take on Heap's 2006 song "Goodnight and Go.
