STAFF REPORT TROY- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s Kappa Pi Omega Chapter awarded $8,450 in scholarships to 27 area high school seniors during its annual essay competition held in Troy.
Scholarships in the amounts of $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $750 for third place were awarded. The first-place recipient was Riley Stewart from Enterprise High School; Kya Hamilton from Dothan High School was the second-place recipient; and Aubrey Blair, also from Dothan High School, was the third-place recipient.
