Election Day is November 8.SAN ANTONIO — Voter turnout dropped 13 percent from the 2018 general election levels heading into the last two days of early balloting.
She said voters can see which of the 51 early voting centers have been busiest on the elections website. So far, libraries on the North Side have seen the highest turnout, with the Encino Branch Library hosting the most as of Tuesday with 12,376 voters. Among the college and university campuses hosting early vote centers, Northwest Vista College has seen the most traffic as of Tuesday with 8,185 ballots cast.
Assuming more voters are waiting for Nov. 8, Callanen said the department is making sure there are enough paper ballot cards at each site.Mail-in voting continues to cause a headache for some who did not realize that the deadline to request a ballot was last week Friday, Callanen said. She said out of 6,000 mail-in ballots, only 26 were rejected for one reason or another, a vast improvement from the number of rejected ballots during the primaries. There is plenty of time for these ballots to be mailed back and corrected, Callanen said.Overall, there are fewer than 40,000 valid mail-in ballots. A total of 24,000 of them are back in house, Callanen said.
