Mr Fullilove asked the boss of the national broadcaster whether he identified partiality as a problem amongst journalists, referencing Mr Williams who previously said:"If you don't want to reflect a view that aspires to impartiality, don't work at the ABC." Mr Williams said the ABC has"very firm views" on reporters expressing"highly coloured" social media commentary. "As a result, the world is in the middle of a crisis of mistrust of information – constituting perhaps the greatest threat to liberal democracy in the world today."Every email, every news story comes with a fear that we might be a target of some attempt to rip us off or mislead us. People are on edge about what is real. And it is producing a radical mistrust of mainstream news sources too.
