Archer Daniels blames winter weather for hit to first-quarter earnings
Grands and seeds processor Archer Daniels Midland Co. ADM, -0.61% said Monday it expects extreme winter weather-related disruptions to shave $50 million to $60 million off first-quarter pretax operating profit. "Extreme winter weather has affected our first quarter North American operations beyond what we would experience in a typical winter," the food company said in a regulatory filing.
