She originally started a pop-up at the Ferry Building in 2015. After great success, she was able to expand to open Reem’s Mission, on the corner of 25th and Mission streets in San Francisco, and an Oakland location, which closed in 2021. Since then, Assil has stated that the future of her business is probably rooted in these kiosk-type setups, instead of full-fledged restaurants, because they're less expensive to operate.
