The 2019 Altima will be available in five grade levels, along with a limited-production launch edition, when it goes on sale at Nissan dealers in the United States in fall 2018. The all-new Altima will also be available in an expanded number of global markets in the coming years.Sales for Nissan brand were up 10.7%, fueled, in large part, by a 59% jump for Altima--a fleet favorite. On the negative side, the luxury Infiniti brand saw a 5.2% decline from April, 2018.
The Acura luxury brand was off 1.7% last month, but the RDX SUV had a strong month with a heft 17.3% increase in sales over April of last year.American Honda "As industry sales continue to level off, we are increasing our share of the market through the strength of our car and truck lineups and our disciplined approach to sales,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr. senior vice president of Automobile Sales at American Honda Motor Co. in a statement.
Looking at the full-year trend, Cox Automotive’s Charlie Chesbrough estimates when all available sales figures are in, the seasonally-adjusted annual selling rate will fall to the mid-16 million range, well below the 17.5 million SAAR in March and 17.2 million last April.
