Using a smartphone? Try an app, such as NightCap Camera, to help capture the meteor shower.
Use a shutter release cable or the camera's built-in timer. This is another way to avoid shaky hands pressing the shutter button. Manually focus the lens because autofocus will struggle at night. NASA suggested taking a test image and then, on the camera's screen, zooming in on a star to see if it's in focus. Adjust as needed.
