Sandrine Holt in Your Friends and Neighbors Season 1

Apple TV has quietly become one of the best streaming services in the world. Many subscribers flocked to the streaming service in 2020 to check out the debut season of Ted Lasso, the hit comedy starring Jason Sudeikis that remains one of the platform’s most popular shows to this day.

However, Apple TV has not only maintained but also grown its steady subscriber base by releasing hit new originals, especially in the sci-fi genre. Apple TV boasts one of the strongest offerings of original sci-fi programming, such as Severance, which debuted as the most-watched Apple TV sci-fi show in history. It later lost this crown when last year brought on the release of the critically adored Pluribus, the Rhea Seehorn-led sci-fi drama was written and created for TV by Vince Gilligan . Apple released another new project last year, Your Friends and Neighbors, which spent months atop the streaming charts. This made the decision to renew the show for a second season an easy one, especially with leading star Jon Hamm on board to return. Hamm was already on fire thanks to his performance in the first season of Landman, the striking oil drama from Taylor Sheridan, and he carried over a large portion of the Landman audience to Apple TV with Your Friends and Neighbors. In an era where shows often take years off between seasons, Your Friends and Neighbors is taking a more traditional route. Less than a year after the show went off the air, the second season of the Jon Hamm-led thriller is set to return this week, when its first episode premieres on April 3.
