Shrinking is officially back, as Harrison Ford has confirmed Season 4's episode count and filming date.
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. Only a month has passed since Apple TV released the Season 3 finale of Shrinking, yet all eyes are now turning towards what comes next.
The original story that series creators Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein set out to tell only spanned three parts, covering grief, forgiveness, and moving on, as embodied by Segel's psychiatrist Jimmy Laird. However, the popularity of the show and the renewal for Season 4 have the team cooking up something new that will still adhere to similar themes and follow the same characters that have become so beloved.
No concrete details about that next arc are available yet, but Harrison Ford did confirm a few important things about the structure of the series going forward. During a celebration for the launch of the Star Wars alum's Glenmorangie limited-edition Highland single malt Scotch whisky, Variety asked him about the status of Shrinking Season 4. Not only did he reveal that filming gets underway next week, but he added that the new run will be slightly expanded.
"We have 12 episodes to do,” he said. That's one more than Season 3 ended at, but it's on par with the count for Season 2 back in 2024.
Such a nearby start date bodes well for a potential return by next year or the first half of 2027 at the latest. 8 10 Shrinking Like Follow Followed TV-MA Comedy Drama Release Date January 27, 2023 Network Apple TV Showrunner Bill Lawrence Directors Bill Lawrence Writers Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel Cast See All Creator Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel Powered by Expand Collapse
