Apple has launched a dedicated iCloud Passwords add-on designed for privacy-conscious browser Firefox. The new add-on allows Firefox users to access passwords stored on theor iCloud Keychain when they’re using the browser on a Mac, according to an article on Apple focused sitein the iCloud Keychain. But it works both ways, saving new passwords you create while using Firefox, too. There is also an option to create verification codes.
The extension is being distributed by Apple, but it appears that it was originally created by a third-party developer and later taken over and updated by Apple, MacRumors writes.I’ve been using Apple’s iOS 18 Passwords app since it launched and I have to say, it works really well. When using the iCloud Keychain, I often came across syncing issues across devices, which was frustrating to say the least. However, this is no longer a problem since upgrading to iOS 18 and using the new app.
When using the Passwords app, you can also set up a group of trusted contacts to share passwords with, such as your family for access to streaming services.
