Apple has opened its largest research lab outside the US in Shenzhen, China. The facility, spanning 20,000 square meters, is expected to employ over 1,000 professionals and become a key hub for Apple 's R&D efforts in the region. This move comes as Apple seeks to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market, despite shifting more production outside China to countries like India and Vietnam.
The company faces rising competition from domestic brands like Huawei, which has made a strong comeback in the Chinese smartphone market
