Apple May Unveil New 14- And 16-Inch MacBookPro This Week
Rounding it all up is Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says that the press briefings will happen tomorrow, with embargoes lifting next Monday. He also links his newsletter from back in October last year which specifically mentions the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with M2 chips. Though in the newsletter the prediction at the time was for the new MacBook Pro models to be announced in the first half of March.
All that being said, these new laptops are expected to only be minor spec bumps to existing models. The most notable difference is the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which may also give them WiFi 6E capabilities. As such, there will probably not be a large scale event for the announcement the way the company does for its annual iPhone update’ for example.On that note, only the M2-equipped MacBook Pro laptops have been explicitly mentioned as being a part of this week’s Apple announcement.
