Apple is reportedly developing a new app called 'Invites' to help users organize meetings and in-person events. The app may offer features similar to popular third-party calendar apps, such as Fantastical.

Apple is constantly developing new apps. While iPhone users already have apps for nearly everything, some prefer Apple 's solutions over third-party options. According to 9to5Mac, Apple 's next potential app is called 'Invites.' As the name suggests, it could help users organize meetings and in-person events. These features are already available in Apple 's Calendar app, but the company might be adding new ones that warrant a separate app.

The new app could resemble features from the popular third-party calendar app Fantastical, which offers features like open windows for scheduling meetings and better ways to see who has accepted or declined an invitation. Apple frequently draws inspiration from other developers' ideas for its own solutions. For example, watchOS 11's Vital and Training Load features are similar to the core function of the popular wellbeing app Gentler Streak. While the third-party app remains more comprehensive, some users may not need in-depth data or are just starting their fitness journey. 9to5Mac reports that Apple teased the 'Invites' app in an iOS 18.2 beta but later removed code references. Now, with iOS 18.3 beta 2, the company is showing continued development of the software, which could launch soon. The publication explains that the app will display a list of invited individuals and their attendance status. It's unclear if 'Invites' will be a standalone app or integrated into other system components, such as iMessage. It's expected to have a more engaging interface compared to the Calendar app's current invitation system. Notably, with iOS 18, Apple began offering 'super apps' by combining features between them, like Calendar and Reminders, and Calculator with Notes. BGR will provide updates as more information becomes available about this future app
