Jabil is the latest Bay Area employer to cut workers.
Contract manufacturer Jabil Inc. is cutting 205 of its Bay Area employees.
"The company will permanently reduce the number of employees" at the two locations, Marjon wrote."We do not anticipate that these employees will return to work in the foreseeable future." But its layoffs are not in reaction to losing business from a particular customer, company spokeswoman Susana Leiser said in an email. Instead, it is cutting staff in response to"market conditions," she said.
