When Apple’s enterprise app division meets luxury fashion, the results are impressive.
Fashion and technology have always been good together. Both want to look cutting-edge and hope you’ll opt for the latest model. So, no surprise that Burberry and Apple should come together to work on the latest, most attractive apps. Burberry has two iOS apps. One is the consumer app you may know and it has just added a cool new feature called R Message. The other is an you’ll never see – it’s not in the App Store.
R World is accomplished and feature-rich, enabling Burberry sales staff, called associates, to interact in different ways. So, instead of a sales associate telling a customer they’ll go and look for the desired item, they can ask a runner to bring it from the right room. As Mark Morris, Burberry’s Vice President of Digital Commerce, explained at the company’s London Regent Street store, “Stock management can be quite difficult as an associate, when people are asking things for you, you're hunting back of house, it's not very easy.
