LEWISBURG – A Superior Court panel has affirmed the conviction of a Union County woman who a prosecutor accused of treating a young girl for whom she had been appointed guardian like a dog.

In her appeal, Keister argued she did not knowingly place child at risk and that she made a mistake in failing to provide proper care. One witness said she observed the girl several times a month from 2015 to 2018 and never saw her eat, but Keister would feed her other children.
