Robert Garrison is a Colorado native who grew up in Montrose and attended Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. He is an AP award-winning journalist who joined Denver7 in August 2016 after working for several other stations across Colorado and Oklahoma over the past decade.
AURORA, Colo. — The former Aurora officer convicted of criminally negligent homicide and third-degree assault in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain is off the force.
Roedema had been suspended from the force prior to the jury’s decision. Roedema, who kept his head bowed after the verdict was read, faces up to three years in prison on the more serious homicide charge. Rosenblatt hugged his supporters as he walked out of court.
