'Seems more like a 'I-Struggle-With-Masculinity' parade to me,' Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet.
The parade Saturday afternoon began at Copley Square and ended at the Boston City Hall. Boston police beefed up security along that route in anticipation of any potential clashes with opposing groups of straight pride demonstrators and those who accused them of being homophobic.by a group called"Super Happy Fun America," and they invited notorious right-leaning personalities.
"All are welcome at the parade as long as they meet the criteria for participation. Antifa, short for Anti-Fun, and other hate groups are not welcome because they are not happy and fun," the group said onThe group said the city of Boston"rejected" its application to raise a straight pride flag at city hall, and said Boston and its mayor did not create"a supportive environment for straights and equality for all.
The Boston Pride group last week said the parade was organized by white supremacists whose intention was to attract straight-pride detractors. John Hugo, the president of the straight-pride group, said there were no racists in his group, and that he welcomed people to visit their meetings.
