Antonio Brown brings exceptional receiving skills matched only by his ability to cause headaches for his bosses. And in the business world, people with great skills and lousy attitudes are called Talented Terrors.
Antonio Brown, the gifted but difficult wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders, is facing a possible suspension aftercame after Brown posted to Instagram a letter from the GM detailing more than $50,000 in fines for time he missed during training camp. That post apparently led to a heated discussion with Mayock during practice, which in turn led to the threat and Brown being told to stay home.
Second, many leaders are terrible at giving employees honest feedback about whether they’re doing a good or bad job. found that only 29% of employees say they “always” know whether their performance is where it should be. It’s incredibly tough to get a Talented Terror to change when they haven’t been clearly told that their performance isn’t where it should be.
Step 2: Using factual, unemotional, specific language, describe the behavior or attitude that needs to change.“Last week in Tuesday’s task force meeting you made three biting and sarcastic remarks during our brainstorming session.” Staying calm may sound trivial or obvious, but Talented Terrors have a unique ability to get under a leader’s skin. Chances are that when you call these folks in to discuss a bad attitude, you’re going to have some emotion behind it; usually some form of anger or frustration. However, if you lose your cool, your argument is going to come off as emotional and lose impact.
