Vertical has officially acquired the U.S. rights to the forthcoming post-apocalyptic thriller titled Elevation, starring Anthony Mackie.
“The film is set in a post-apocalyptic Rocky Mountains, where a single father and two women venture from the safety of their homes to face monstrous creatures to save the life of a young boy,” reads the synopsis.is directed and produced by George Nolfi from a script co-written by John Glenn , Jacob Roman and Kenny Ryan . The film also stars Maddie Hasson , Danny Boyd Jr. , Dave Malkoff , Shauna Earp and more.
“Working with Anthony Mackie, for a third time now, Morena Baccarin, and the rest of our exceptional cast and crew to bring this innovative screenplay to life was a blast,” Nolfi said in a statement. “Anthony, Morena, and the rest of the team dove in head first as we shot action scenes in some extremely challenging places — from a working ski lift high in the Colorado Rockies, to an active mine under a mile of rock — all to enhance the theatrical experience of the film.
Besides Elevation, both Mackie and Baccarin are currently set to reprise their respective Marvel roles as Sam Wilson/ Captain America and Vanessa in two different MCU movies. On February 14 2025, Mackie will be leading his first MCU movie as the solo lead withMaggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
