Anthony Mackie On Twisted Metal, John Doe & Building On The Classic Game

We chat with TwistedMetal star Anthony Mackie about his character John Doe and how director Michael Jonathan Smith expands the world of Twisted Metal from the game to the peacock series:

Anthony Mackie: First of all, what's up, man, good to see you! John Doe is this amazing kind of — he's really youthful in the way he sees the world. This show picks up right after the apocalypse, so we're about 15 years after the apocalypse, and John has no memory of what happened before.

The Twisted Metal games didn't have a ton of story, but there was a lot of vehicular combat in these games with the superdeath cars. Can you talk to me about working with Michael Jonathan Smith to kind of flesh out the Twisted Metal universe?
