Growing calls for answers out of Hays County where members of the homeless community say they were misled by the San Marcos Housing Authority .
“I think it’s a, quite frankly a failure in leadership here at a local level,” said Miguel Arredondo.“I’ve been inundated with phone calls, text messages, Facebook messages about the breakdown in the system in this process,” he said. When doors opened Wednesday morning, people were told there were no vouchers to be handed out. Instead they were told they would be put onto a waitlist.CBS Austin reached out to San Marcos Housing Authority Executive Director Lana Wagner. She says there was never anything said on the housing authority’s behalf that there would be vouchers.
CBS Austin followed up in another email asking if Wagner intended to answer the questions, she has yet to respond.
