Fire crews raced to the Greyhound and Punchbowl, in Wolverhampton, just before 4am on Saturday.
West MidlandsThe pub was thought to have been built as a manor house in 1450, before being reopened with a license between 1774-1820,The Grade II listed building is only around five miles away from the Crooked House, which was seriously damaged and then demolished following a fire in August.
While not as wonky as its nearby neighbour, the Greyhound and Punchbowl also has its historic charms, with crooked exterior beams typical of surviving buildings from this time period. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: ‘We are continuing our enquiries into a suspected arson attack at the Greyhound and Punchbowl in Bilston.The Crooked House burned down in August and it was demolished shortly afterwards ‘Officers are carrying out CCTV and door to door enquiries to find out more about the circumstances of how the fire started.
