There is the potential for another round of thunderstorms and heavy rain in San Antonio and South Central Texas on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service said San Antonio is at a marginal risk for severe storms that could produce damaging winds and 2-inch sized hail. There is also a possibility of localized flooding, and a tornado can't be ruled out, the weather service added. There is a 60 percent chance that showers and thunderstorms will move into San Antonio between 1 and 4 p.m., but NWS meteorologists anticipate most of the area will experience less than a tenth of an inch of rain. Some areas, however, may see more precipitation if a thunderstorm rolls through.Austin and the northeast region of South Central Texas have a better chance of experiencing strong thunderstorms as that area is under a slight risk of severe weather.

After Thursday's threat of severe weather passes, temperatures will rise through the weekend and potentially hit triple digits on Saturday. Thursday's high is expected to be 86, followed by 94 on Friday and 100 on Saturday. Sunday's high is forecasted to be 99.
