KOTA KINABALU: Trouble within Sabah PKR continues to brew with another senior division leader in Kudat claiming that their Pitas branches were now crippled after over 3,000 members left the party.

Claiming a mass exodus of 3,125 PKR members, PKR Kudat division's appointed vice chairman Datuk Rudy Awah said that they made the decision due to the Sabah PKR leadership.

"All these members – a total of 3,125 – have decided to leave the party. Our decision cripples PKR in the Pitas state constituency," he told reporters after the group held a meeting in the northern Kota Marudu town. The former Sabah PKR training and party machinery bureau chairman said that they would be using their NGO, Persatuan Jiwa Anak Pitas, to carry out community outreach programmes.

A mix of dissatisfaction against Sabah PKR chief Datuk Christina Liew, who is Deputy Chief Minister as well as Tawau MP and Api Api assemblyman, and allegiances to the faction aligned to Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali has triggered sporadic resignations among its leaders and members.
