The Ann Rudd Art Center in Ozark, Alabama, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a Silver Jubilee Gala on January 11, 2024. The event is free and open to the public. The art center is home to the Dale County Council of the Art and Humanities, which has been active for 25 years.
Michelle Mann OZARK-The Ann Rudd Art Center has been home to the Dale County Council of the Art and Humanities for 25 years and the public is invited to a Silver Anniversary Gala celebration Saturday. The free event, to be held at the art center housed in the historic Dowling Building on the square in downtown Ozark, is from 6 until 8 p.m. Jan. 11.
The public is invited to be our guest for an evening of creative entertainment, socializing, and tasty food and beverages,” said DCCAH President Gaynelle Mixon. “The evening is dedicated to all our patrons and artists and those who served on the Arts Council over the years. This year marks 25 years of both the DCCAH and the Ann Rudd Art Center, located at 144 E. Broad Street. Saturday’s Silver Jubilee Gala marks the beginning of a year-long series of events and will feature the DCCAH Permanent Art Collection, highlighting works gathered over the past quarter century on display in the main gallery of the Ann Rudd Art Center until Jan. 19. People are also reading… Black and White Show The DCCAH will host the Black and White Show from Feb. 1 to 28, showcasing artwork and photography that emphasize composition and balance using black, white, and shades of gray. Artists may submit up to three entries during the intake period on Jan. 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will officially open Feb. 1 with a reception open to the public. Membership Event/Art ShowThe annual Membership Event and Member Art Show is from March 15 to April 25. The Member Art Show is open to DCCAH members and other artists, with the entry fee including an annual DCCAH membership. Artists may submit up to three works, including art and photography, during the intake period on March 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will officially open on March 15 with a membership reception open to the public
