Angelina Jolie has donated $1 million (£840,000) to the charity, nokidhungry, to ensure American children who relied on eating a school meal are still receiving one while schools remain closed amid the coronavirus outbreak.
In recent years, Jolie has carried out many philanthropic projects, including helping refugees with the UN.
This will no doubt not be the only substantial contribution the Oscar-winner makes to the Covid-19 prevention efforts. Other celebrities and businesses have also supplied aid to alleviate the pandemic – including luxury fashion houses making masks and hand sanitisers. In short: we’re all in it together.
