Angela Lansbury, a three-time Oscar nominee and five-time Tony Award winner, has passed away at the age of 96.
Lansbury’s death was announced by her family, who issued a statement on the passing of the legendary actress. “The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday,” the statement reads .
Lansbury’s career in Hollywood and Broadway is one of the most celebrated and legendary of any actor today. Perhaps most well-known for her role in the hit television seriesThroughout her time in Hollywood, Lansbury earned three Oscar nominations and 18 total Emmy nominations, including being honored with an honorary Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2013.
