The water level in Bulacan’s Angat Dam rose by almost three meters on Saturday after tropical storm “Ambo” passed through Central Luzon.Based on the monitoring of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration , Angat Dam’s water level increased to 190.19 meters on Saturday from 187.53 meters last Friday.
The water reservoir has been consistently declining since the second week of January due to lack of significant rainfall over the Angat Watershed in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The National Water Resources Board has started releasing additional 2 cubic meters per second of raw water to the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System last May 14.
The additional 2 cubic meters per second raw water alllocation from Angat Dam was intended to meet the demand of consumers in Metro Manila, and adjacent provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, and Cavite during the national health emergency arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
