Andy Murray will bow out of tournament tennis after the Paris Olympics
The Scottish sporting hero said his farewell to Wimbledon last month in an emotional appearance at SW19, which was cut short when Emma Raducanu pulled out of their planned doubles campaign, only to be knocked out of the ladies' singles the following day. With Murray expected to retire officially this summer, the Dunblane native has confirmed that his bid for a third Olympic gold, having won gold in London back in 20212 and then in Rio four years later.
He'll play on the Roland Garros clay in Paris for the final time as he took to social media to confirm it will be the last time he graces a tournament. Murray also shared that representing Team GB as an Olympian were the most memorable weeks of a glittering career. He'll compete in the mens' singles alongside Jack Draper, Cam Norrie and Dan Evans who are making their Olympic debuts.
