The British electronic band confirmed Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher’s death.

"We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher," the statement began.

"Fletch had a true heart of gold, and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint," the statement continued. Fletcher formed "Depeche Mode" with bandmates Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Vince Clarke in 1980. Fletcher typically stayed behind his keyboard during his performances, letting Gahan and Gore roam the stage. Gore was also the band’s main songwriter.Clarke left the band in 1981, and Alan Wilder became the newest member. The band gained international success throughout the 1980s and the 1990s.and produced many hits, including "Enjoy the Silence" and "Just Can’t Get Enough.
