The Andrews government will face a second probe into the cancelled Commonwealth Games after failing to gain support to divert a parliamentary inquiry solely to the Auditor-General.
The Victorian Premier shocked the world by ripping up the contract for the international sporting event in July, claiming the cost had blown out from $2.6 billion to an eye-watering $7 billion.
In a response obtained by SkyNews.com.au, Mr Greaves confirmed on Wednesday that he will progress with an inquiry into the cancellation. The Labor government failed to gain support for its amendment, with the crossbench teaming up with the Coalition to pass its motion for an inquiry.
