MANILA - Tycoon Andrew Tan's companies under his holding firm, Alliance Global Group Inc. , have donated over P603 million to various efforts in the Philippines’ fight against COVID-19.

“Along with our healthcare frontliners, our government takes the toughest job in saving more lives against the virus,” AGI chief executive officer Kevin Andrew Tan said in a statement released Thursday. “Our companies are here to support all efforts, and we are continuously looking for ways on how and where we can further extend help and support,” he said. AGI’s donations since the Philippine government imposed an enhanced community quarantine in Luzon in mid-March include:

The AGI also distributed over 100,000 meals to health care frontliners, government workers and urban families through McDonald’s Philippines’ Kindness Kitchen, the company said. It has also supported retail tenants by waiving rental charges in various Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, as most shops were ordered closed.
