The Irish actor, known for his roles in Fleabag and BBC Sherlock as well as critically acclaimed new film All Of Us Strangers, has been left devastated by the sudden loss of his mum, who died after a ‘sudden illness’ on Thursday. While Andrew himself has not publicly commented on Nora’s death, the family shared an announcement on website RIP.ie.
Andrew shared a close bond with his mother, and during a 2019 appearance on The Graham Norton Show revealed he had been sworn to secrecy when he was cast to appear in an episode of Black Mirror, but could not resist telling his mum. He said at the time: ‘The whole thing was shrouded in mystery. ‘No-one tells you what’s going on and then you’re sworn to secrecy. You can’t tell anyone, but I told my mum.
